I am a committed reliable person who has gained experience working in a variety of different fields. I have excellent communication skills and can effectively communicate with a wide range of people with varying needs. I adopt an effective, efficient and flexible attitude towards work; and constantly strive to achieve high standards and expectations of clients.
I have gained professional experience working as a Massage and Beauty Therapist working in Walkergate Sports Injury Clinic, offering a range of treatments including sport massage; complementary massage including hot stone therapy, hands free and aromatherapy; facial treatments; hair depilation, tanning, manicure, pedicure, and eyelash and eyebrow treatments. I have also gained valuable experience working as a Sport Massage Therapist and Pitch Side First Aider for a Northern League Football Team. I have provided massage services and beauty treatments to clients using safe, appropriate and effective techniques according to client need and preference to help achieve their desired results. I have established and maintained excellent client relationships. I have carried out consultations with clients prior to treatments, identifying information to ascertain any precautions and contraindications. Although I do not work full time in this career it is something that I hope to pursue in the future, I am keen to build upon my experience and skills in this area.
I have extensive experience working in the Social Care sector and still work part time within local authority as a Social Work Assistant. I have worked in various other roles which include Reablement Supervisor and Support and Recovery Worker. I have been responsible for working with a wide range of service users with health and social difficulties impacting upon their day to day living needs, including people with mental health problems, dementia, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. As a Reablement Supervisor I was responsible for day to day management of a service which supported adults following ill health or injury to regain independence, I worked alongside Physiotherapy staff and it was during this time that my interest in rehabilitation developed, alongside my love of massage, this led to me train as a Sport Massage Therapist. Working within a mental health environment developed my interest in complementary therapies even further as it gave me a greater understanding of the positive impact engaging in these treatments can have on a person’s health and well being.
